Overcoming Mental Roadblocks to Weight Control
Unlike other Diet books that focus on the physical aspects of weight control, The Motivational Guide goes further by teaching you techniques for overcoming the mental roadblocks to weight control such as using Progressive Muscular Relaxation to combat stress and anxiety. By first evaluating your current lifestyle/situation, you can begin to determine which components of the various weight control methods circulating today are likely to work best for you. Creating a plan that speaks to both your strengths and weaknesses increases your capacity for sticking to whatever plan you design. The Guide begins by discussing the theories behind the most popular diet, exercise and weight control medication regimens and ultimately helps you create a customized solution by choosing the combination of methods that work best for you. |
Motivation and Practical Strategies
The book focuses on the crucial topic of human motivation, explains the nature of motivation and takes you through a series of Q & A’ s designed to determine your state of readiness for embarking on a weight control program.
The Guide teaches practical strategies for making the environmental and social changes needed to maximize your chances of sticking with your Bespoke Solution. For example, you learn the importance of good social support and how to identify positive and negative influences within your own family and social circles. You are also given tips on changing your environment such as designating one room of the house for meals.
